Battery Update For MacBook and MacBook Pro Available Now

MacBook/MacBook Pro’s batteries issues that affecting performance has been discovered recently by Apple. Now the problem has been identified and they offering free software update that is made to enhance the performance. According to Apple, You may continue using your current battery as they do not cause a safety risks. To download the software update you can visit the battery update page.

Apple explain that not all the batteries need a replacement, the affected batteris should have one or more the following symtoms:

  • Battery is not recognized causing an “X” to appear in the battery icon in the Finder menu bar.
  • Battery will not charge when computer is plugged into AC power.
  • Battery exhibits low charge capacity/runtime when using a fully charged battery with a battery cycle count (as shown in System Profiler) of less than 300.
  • Battery pack is visibly deformed.

I found an useful article for Mac users who has storage limitation problems. I know that 100GB storage sometime just not enough for today’s multimedia tasking. I am not a hardware geek but i just want to amplify something that possibly interesting for some people.

And what? This a story quote about adding a second HDD to MacBook Pro by Eric Cheng. He installed an additional MCE Optibay Hard Drive (160GB) as a second drive and then he created a striped RAID 0 array using the two drive. The OLPC (One Laptop per Child) project is non-profit organization created by faculty members of the MIT Media Lab to design, manufacture, and distribute the laptops. The organization intended to distribute inexpensive laptop computer to children around the world, especially to those in developing countries, to provide them with access to knowledge and modern forms of education. But 19 governors of U.S. interesting to join the program.
