Asus developing robust and ruggedized laptop to meet IP54 classification, MIL-STD-810F standard as well as MIL-STD-461E standard. It is mean that the laptop will rain/dust/shock/vibration resistance as well as noise resistance. The laptop designed with biaxial hinge that allow users to rotate the screen horizontally. Featuring Intel Core 2 Duo processor, the new N13i comes with 13.3-inch LCD panel, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g, Bluetooth, as well as HSDPA for high speed internet connection.

Asus planned to mass produce the laptop late this year and they confirmed that being a latercome in the ruggedized laptop market to take benefit of adopting latest functions and feature, so users also getting the benefits. The standard configuration estimated sell at $3,000 price tag.

Beside its plan selling to end users, Asus will deliver the rugged laptop to other laptop manufacturers as ODM/OEM.
