The US final round of Game & Game World Championsip 2007 was held successfully in Los Angles and took a place at the Internet PC Cafe. As reported by Aving.net, 17 players chosen to compete in the US regional final and we saw last year regional finalist of Silkroad online Gerald Bastien and Zachary Witeof took first and second place in this year event again.

TrustedRevies.com reported that Zepto is claiming its laptop able to pull 600Mbit/s (150-200Mbits/s actual performance) from its cards at distances of around 25ft (compare to the Intel solution that achieves at about 40Mbits/s).

Despite the facts that the 802.11n wireless will not be ratified soon, most of major laptop manufacturers including Zepto is already adopting it. And interestingly Zepto coming with its own tweaking to increase the performance.

SEOUL, Korea (AVING Special Report on ‘GNGWC 2007′) — GNGWC 2007(Game & Game World Championship)’s Southeast Asian regional finals held in Ho Chi Minh City on October 13th. Nine finalists were chosen to go to the GNGWC 2007 Grand Final in Korea on December while 5,000 people watching.

The ‘Silk Road Online’, and ‘Bomb ‘N Dash’ were selected as official games for the regional finals in Vietnam which held by VINASA(Vietnam software organization) during the ISGAF 2007(International Software and Game Festival), and ‘Warlock’ was added separately for regional final in Philippines. Total 9 players won the tickets to the Grand Final which will be held in Korea on Dec. 1st out of 44 players from the preliminary online-match.

I found great article by Cisco Cheng at pcmag.com that tell about LED-Backlit screen. As described by him, on the market there are two technology behind the laptop screen: CCFL backlighting and the new LED backlighting. As LEDs have a larger color gomut and has a higher degree of details in dark areas, make the image on the screen look sharper. The other advantage of employing LEDs technology include capability to reduce motion artifacts during video and movie playback so it consumes less power which enhance the battery life.
