The new Dell’s XPS m1330 and Inspiron Laptop have been available for quite sometime now. The new Inspiron has been mentioned to have various models range 1520, 1521, 1720, 1721, as well as 1420. All models comes with 256MB GeForce 8600M WP graphic card, 2.5-inch SATA disk, WiFi 802.11 n and Gigabit Ethernet.
The 1720 adn 1721 comes with 17-inch WUXGA TrueLife display screen and based on Intel Santa Rosa (up to 2.2GHz Core 2 Duo T7500) and AMD respectively. The 1520 comes with 5.4-inch WSXGA+ TrueLife display, Blu-ray disc drive, and optional hybrid hard drive. And the last model, 1420 comes with 14.4-inch WXGA+ TrueLife display and optional hybrid hard drive. The Inspiron’s pricing start at $769.
As successor of D420, the new Dell Latitude D430 comes with improved specifications include SSD adoption instead of HDD as the D420 has. It is the newest ultra portable laptop from Dell but it does not adopt Intel Santa Rosa platform yet.
Going on sale on July 2nd as reported by notebookreviews.com, the latitude D430 boasts 1.2Ghz Inter Core 2 Duo processor, 2GB of memory (max), and 12.1-inch WXGA display which is driven by Intel GMA 950 graphics chip. Regarding storage, the new 420 adopted 32GB SSD (solid state disk) which is more robust compare to ordinary HDD. Other features include WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n, SD card/PCMCIA slot, and various I/O ports such as USB ports, VGA, modem, ethernet, and Fire Wire.

SSD (Solid State Disk) drives has some advantages compare to the traditional disk drives. SSD has faster start-up, faster read times, and lower read/write latency time. With this reason, Dell start featuring SSD drives to its new laptops: Latitude D420 and D620ATG. Beside its advantages, the SSD price considered to be higher than a common HD (around 40 times of traditional mechanical drives). Both laptop available in the retail store now, and upgrading to the 32GB SSD will cost $549.

The laptop utilizes high durability paint, solid port covers, anti vibration, dust, spill-resistant keyboard, and more. This claim just make a good guy at ZDnet.nl take some action to prove it.
