Intel Classmate PC lands in UK

The cheap laptop ‘Intel Classmate’ is already available for order in UK store JumpPC for £239. This 7-inch laptop powered by Intel Celeron Mobile CPU (900MHz), 5512MB of memory, Intel 915GMS chipset, and 2GB of flash drive or 30 GB of hdd.

The Intel Classmate is running Windows XP Home Edition and does support WiFi, standard Ethernet LAN, and USB. Last but not least, it’s also equipped with webcam.

Now, the Intel cheap PC not a rumor anymore, it’s officially declared as 2go PC and will hit real market in May. As we know the Indonesian version of this laptop already available in local market manufactured by Zyrex and known as Anoa. The 2go model created by CTL and has the same target: educational market.

The Intel 2go laptop PC powered by Intel Celeron M processor, 9-inch screen at 800×480 resolution driven by the 915GMS chipset, 512MB of memory, and built-in VGA camera. The laptop also supports WiFi 802.11 b/g and equipped with SD/MMC reader.

Asus Eee PC is an ultra small and light laptop dedicated for Internet related tasks. Its processor and chipset supplied by Intel. The Eee PC compatible with Linux as well as Windows XP. Other main features include 512MB memory, 7-inch display, and Flash drive storage 4GB, 8GB, and 16GB capacity. It weigh only 0.89kg and the price set around $200. The Eee PC & Intel Classmate come together to join the race of cheap laptop mass production.
