HP introduced its first multitouch-enabled tablet for business users, the HP EliteBook 2740p, an ultra-thin, multitouch-enabled convertible tablet that provides an interactive experience for businesses in health care, education, sales and more. the HP EliteBook 2740p tablet PC combines the power and reliability of an HP business notebook PC with the flexibility of a tablet, making it ideal for users on the go. The 2740p starts at 3.8 pounds and includes a 12.1-inch diagonal LED display or optional outdoor-view display with less reflection and a higher contrast for easier viewing in natural light.

Dell showcased a tablet concept with a 5-inch display at CES last month, positioning it as a companion device that delivers a full web experience around accessing, maintaining and syncing and sharing digital content.

The new Dell Latitude XT just unveiled last month in Korea. This tablet is an upgraded version of the previous 12.1-inch convertible PC. Unlike the old one, the new version comes with multi-touch screen and configured with Intel Core 2 Duo ULV processor and 128GB SSD.

Taiwan based manufacturer Aware Electronics introducing affordable Tablet PC with the pricing set at only $300. The tablet powered by Aday5G 800MHz X86 processor, 512 of memory, and does support WiFi.

Running on Linux OS, the Aware tablet configured with 4GB of NAND flash, webcam, and common I/O ports such as USB ports, an ethernet port, VGA. For storage expansion, it’s equipped with MMC/SD slot.

Asus planned to produce touchscreen model of its Eee PC. This reports was confirmed by ASUS’s Australian division and the prototype will be displayed during Taipei’s Computex show next month.

ASUS has already produced a range of UMPCs, based around 7-inch touchscreens, and it’s difficult to see where the Eee tablet would fit in. Considering the range’s budget credentials, some are already wondering whether the company is planning a sub-$400 touchscreen device; anything else could overlap too significantly with the existing range. Alternatively, one of ASUS’ prototype UMPCs could be rebadged as part of the Eee series.
